"Well ask her then," I corrected. I didn't care if it was private. After the first day, if it was up to me, he wouldn't be alone with her again.

"Alone" he said putting emphasis on the word. I didnt want to be alone, what if he hurt me more?

He glared at her and then moved his eyes to me. They sofened and they reminded me of the times when it was him and Melanie sat by a fire while Jamie slept. As soon as he stood, he began to move towards me, I pulled myself into a little ball and sat very still, wanting to sink into the face of the rock.

"Jared, you can speak from over there. She's not hard of hearing." I said, still completely relaxed. He wouldn't hit a teenage girl. He wouldn't lay a finger on one... I didn't think.

He looked back to Becca and glared again but didn't stop walking towards me.

I stood and leaned against the entrance. "Jared. Stop." I heard another set of footsteps close by and I wasn't sure if they were coming here or not. "OW!" I screamed with an evil grin.

When Becca said 'OW!' that stopped Jared, he met my eyes for one more second before turning around to see what was wrong with Becca. "What happened?!" He asked looking around frantically.

Urm.. ?? "I er.. cut my finger on the rock?" I raked my hand along the rough rock.

I smiled and poke becca in the back. "Hey!" I said, smiling. Then I noticed Jared, "Hey Jared!" I called, then my eyes moved to the small whole. I didnt trust that soul but Becca did, I didnt know melanie when she was human so I just went with everyone else. Though, i didnt hate it.

I jumped and trembled to what was going on out there. I heard Jared slip a moan from his throat and walked over to Becca and Zoe. "It doesn't look that bad" He explained.

My body curved away from the poke as it tickled me. "Snowie," I complained with a laugh. I shrugged. "I know." I said innocently to Jared. Then I skipped back over to take my place in front of the hole.

He sighed and met my eyes one more time before turning around and stomping out of the cave. Whatever he really wanted to say must have meant something to him.

I smiled triumphantly and sat down again, in front of the hole. "That was close," I muttered to her.

"What did you do?" I asked looking at her finger. I followed her and sat down next to her. "Figured you might want some company" I explained

Oh, er.. the rocks are sharp, I laughed. And I've got company, I smiled, looking into the cave at her. But thanks anyway.

"Honestly, I have no idea. But I've been sitting here for a while and she hasn't said anything. She jumped when I gave her a granola bar," I answered. "She's harmless and to be honest, I like her."

I smiled and turned to look at Melanie, well the soul that was inside her. "Do you think she'll talk if we talk to her?" I whispered. I was curious.

I relaxed when she said she liked me, at least I knew she wasnt going to hurt me.

"Only one way to find out," I answered. I spun in the entry to face her properly. I pulled my knees up and rested my chin on them. "Hey," I said softly, "I'm Becca and this is Zoe. What's your name?"
