Intricate patterns

For once I was in my hole alone, I wasn't being guarded by anyone. I think they had gone for a meeting about something which they obviously couldn't talk about with me around. I didn't mind, It gave me time to think things through etc..
It felt wierd here, like I belonged but we all knew that wasn't true, Melanie belonged here, I am just a parasite who has took over her.
I lay staring at the intricate patterns on the roof of my little bed thing.

I'd been sent by Jeb to give it food. They were having a meeting but Liam would bring me up to date when I got back. I wandered through the corridor and down the one when it was kept. I thought about leaving it where I was standing but then it would give the thing an excuse to get out. Then who knows what it would do. So I walked slowly to the entry, dumped the piece of broken plastic that was being used as a tray and walked away quickly.

I grabbed the plastic tray and sighed, I really wasn't hungry. I pushed it to the side for later.

I wandered in, Jeb had sent me out of the meeting I didn't know why but he had. I skipped my way through the empty corridors, singing out loud to the song I'd just learnt. The one I'd probably sing the next party type game night we had. I didn't know when that would be. I skipped and danced and twirled my way through the small tunnels until I entered Wanderer's room, prison thing. I saw Tami sat at the opposite end to the hall. I didn't stop skipping though or being happy. She didn't look like she'd hurt it. "Hey Tami, Hey Wanderer!" I sung, smiling. I'd been really happy today for no reason apart from well....there was no reason.

"Hi" I called from my hole. Well aware of Tami there.

"How are you today?" I asked, still dancing around.

"I'm Good thanks, and yourself?" I asked.

"I'm amazing." I replied, I stopped dancing and sat down on the mat. "How did you sleep?" I asked.

"Fine thanks, How about you?" I asked.

I giggled. "I didn't, I think I must have drunk coffee or something which the adults... and the younger kids don't let me drink because it makes me hyper and I end up doing something really crazy" I replied, speaking as fast as lightening.

I laughed as I heard her speak really fast.

"I have no idea what I'm doing but I feel amazing so it must be good." I said, smiling.

I shookmy head and rolled my eyes. I sat up from laying down and leant against the far end of the hole.

"Wanna strech your legs?" I asked, I knew Tami would have an angry word with me later but I didn't car. She'd probably tell Kyle, Jared and the others and they'd all have a 'word' with me.

"err.. Okay" I said a little worried about what they might do to Snowie

"Cool" I said, smiling. I held my hand out to help her out of the hole then I grabbed the gun. "Wanna stay here or wander around?"

"What ever suites you best" I answered pulling myself ut of the hole and stretching my back.

I looked at Tami then at Wanderer. Well she was gonna be angry at me anyway, what the hell! "Come on, we can walk around a bit. Everyones still in the meeting so no ones gonna bother us."

"Okay" I said following her gaze to Tami and then I looked back to Snowie.

"Come on!" I said, not bothering to blind fold her she never be able to figure her way out of the tunnels by herself. I skipped out of the tunnels, vertually dancing.

I follwed her, Not dancing though. I was walking.

I smiled as she followed me through the tunnels. I started singing again, hyper as ever. "...And you can tell everybody this is your song, it maybe quite simple but now it's done. I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words, how wonderful life is now your in the world..."

"Melanie likes that song, shes singing along" I said smiling.

I giggled. "Yeah it's cool, I just learnt to play it. It's hard when your stuck underground to get much musical experiences or equipment, all we have is a small, very small battery powered keyboard and my guitar."

"Atleast you haven't given up on your talents and have kept doing the things you love even though you are practically hiding from everyone" I said.
