Jared smiled, staying silent as Wanderer closed her eyes. He didn't know if she was going to sleep or just thinking or having a conversation with Melanie, but he didn't want to interrupt.

I think the reason I was acting like this was that I was trying to distract myself from the horror I had just seen...

While everything was silent, jared had time to think. Then, reality set in. Wes was gone. The Seeker had shot him. Jared couldn't help thinking that Wes shouldn't have even been there. He was just a boy.

(ooc: How do you explain a dude grieving without making him sound like a girl? Razz

After a while, I was sure Jared was probably thinking too. I turned onto my side and and curled up. I shut my eyes tight and tried to shut the nightmares that were soon to come away.

Jared closed his eyes, too when Wanderer curled up. He rested his head against the wall, tired from the raid.

The image of Wes lying on the ground and the sound of the shot shattered every single thought of Jared's. He couldn't sleep. He opened his and just watched Wanderer, happy for the distraction.

I can't remember what I was dreaming about but I sat up, sweat dripping down my face. My eyes darted around the room and then when I saw Jared I tilted my head to the side then laid back down.

Jared jumped when Wanderer sat up, covered in sweat. "Wanda, are you okay?" he said, worried.

"Yeah.. bad dream" I mumbled, closing my eyes and wiping the sweat off my face before opening them and staring at Jared.

"I'm not surprised." Jared smiled. "I'm guessing you're not used to horror movies."

"No. Melanie remembers some though" I said. I couldn't get the picture of Wes's body laying there, lifeless on the ground. I stood up and walked out of the room. I was going to find out why a soul would kill someone.

Jared jumped up and followed Wanderer. He didn't know where she was going or why her movement was so sudden, but he followed her anyway.

I walked through the caves silently. Searching for the right opening. When I reached the hall that lead to the 'prison'. I stopped and took a deep breath. "Jared. I want you to stay here" I said before continuing down the hall and into the 'prison'.

Jared knew where they were going before they got there. After the general direction they were going in lead to the Seeker. Jared was shocked that Wanderer asked him to stay where he was. She usually asked for nothing. But, he listened. If he heard anything he didn't like, he would be in there in a second.

When I saw what I saw. I saw the seeker sat in front of the hall. "Oh hello Wanderer" She said sarcastically.
"Why did you do it? I didn't think souls could do that to someone" I said.

Jared heard the Seeker's tone and his hands balled up into fists. How could she be so snide to one of her own kind, right after killing a human?!

"Because they are human!" She said, standing up and walking towards me. I didn't notice until now that I had tears spilling over my eyes.

Jared heard the sharp tap-tap-tap of the Seeker's footsteps and rounded the corner, walking slowly to Wanderer, protectively.

When Jared showed I said, "no. It's fine. She won't hurt me"
"Oh and you would know I wouldn't. Your one of them!" She screamed.
"I am a soul. I could never be one of them but I won't hurt them and won't do anything to them that would get them killed..." I trailed off. I didn't know how to put it.

"And we have nothing against Wanda. We'd never hurt her. You on the other hand. . ." Jared trailed off, an evil glint in his eye. He didn't finish because it would upset Wanderer.

I turned my head to raise one shaky eyebrow. They couldn't kill the seeker.

Jared looked down like a schoolboy caught doing something he knew he shouldn't when Wanderer looked at him.
