Darkness - Open

"Thats the thing, I don't think I'll be staying here much longer" I replied, looking back at the ground.

"whyyyyy...?" I asked, slightly suspicous.

"I...I just think it's better if I leave, I mean I'd just walk out during the night and n one would know I was gone." I said.

"Until we all woke up!" I protested.

"No one would care, while I'm here I'm just another mouth to feed and someone who's gonna end up bringing some seriously bad stuff to these caves."

"True, like one person would see it that way. But the rest of us would care!" I said. "Don't underestimate yourself, Ever."

"I don't fit in here Becca, I'm not normal..." I replied, looking at her.

I looked at her with a slight smile. "Let's face it, we're all misfits, here."

"Becca, stop trying to find excuse's. I admire your efforts but nothings going to change my mind, I don't belong here." I replied.

"Do you even know the way out?" I challenged. I knew that when Ever first got here, Jared had her blindfolded.

"I can figure it out, I'll just get Pixie to help me.." I mummbled.

I sighed. "Look, if Kyle finds you trying to escape, he'll assume your in "Cahoots" with the Seekers." I warned her, using air quotes around 'cahoots'.

"Then hopefully he'll kill me quick and get it over with." I replied, I didn't belong and I didn't plan to stay.

My jaw dropped. She'd prefer to be killed by Kyle than to just stay here?! But, then again, Kyle would be kicked out of the caves if he did..

"Becca, I've enjoyed my time here. But everything has to come to an end, otherwise nothing would start." I explained, then smiling a fake smile for a few seconds before standing up and brushing myself down. I think I'd make my departure quick and simple. No goodbye's, no nothing just be exiting these caves.

God, this person was more stubborn than me! "Look, Ever. If you leave, your life's over anyway. The Seekers will find you and erase you. Or, you could stay here. Even if it's just for a little longer."

I rolled my eyes. I then realized I'd have to lie my way out of this one. "Okay, Okay.I'll stay then, god your stubborn." I lied, I was leaving anyway. But I needed to get this conversation over with, the sooner it was done the sooner I could leave.

I half-smiled, nodded and ducked out of thhe room.

I smiled as she left, then began wandering through the tunnels. I didn't have anythings with me here, so that wasn't a problem. But I didn't know how to get Pixie to appear. So I began walking through the tunnels maybe I could find the exit by myself.

I went back to my room and sat on my bed. I wondered what Ever meant by a mental person who brings bad things or whatever she'd said..
I fell slowly into a dreamless sleep.

I was walking for about 30 minutes before Pixie appeared. As soon as she did I asked her the way out, of corse she argued with me about my choice to leave but eventually she gave in. She led me through all the twists and turns of the complex tunnels until I made it outside. I started moving straight away, it was just starting to become light. The heat was so much more intense then I was use to, it had me sweating already.
